Please help a disabled woman achieve independence by donating a free car today!
I have been on disability for several years with a complicated medical history. In the past two years I've had two operations for something that could have killed me if left untreated. My most recent operation was in October 2011. About two months prior to that, I obtained a used car. It's a 1995 Chevy Corsica but it turned out to be a lemon. Never, ever buy a car from an individual as you have NO rights whatsoever! I found that out the hard way.
As I write this, the car needs a new exhaust pipe as there's a hole in it. The muffler is cracked but it is not leaking yet. All four tires need to be replaced. The heater core needs to be replaced. There's something wrong with the rubber seal around the front passenger door, so whenever it rains it leaks in there. So, the car is starting to smell funny. The spark plugs have been replaced but not the wires, so those need to be changed as well. The gas tank is rusty and this car also needs work on the front brakes. The cover over the gas cap is barely hanging on. The cigarette lighter doesn't work, so I can't get a heater that would plug into it. Shall I go on?
I am begging anyone out there reading this to help me if you can. The little money I was able to save towards this lemon is gone and I am broke. If anyone out there has a vehicle in good working order - it doesn't have to be new - please let me know. Please! I just need something that will run and something that won't force me to take it to the garage every week, nickel and diming me to death.
Until I get another car, I run the risk of a breakdown every time I take this thing on the road. I desperately need help!

I can provide documentation regarding my circumstances to anyone who would like to see it. I can prove that I am disabled, and that I'm not in the best of health and that I was stuck with a lemon of a car. Never ever buy a vehicle from an individual unless you know that person well! I can't emphasize that enough!
I am asking that anyone willing to provide assistance to contact me at [email protected] or by using the form below. Thank you!
UPDATE: 12/2/11: Today the brake pedal went all the way to the floor in my '95 Chevy Corsica. I had someone look at it and he confirmed the brake line now has a leak. With that repair and everything else that needs to be done, I have no choice but to scrap the car. I am asking once again that if anyone out there can help me, please contact me as soon as possible. I live in a rural area north of Syracuse, New York and public transportation is very limited. Without reliable transportation it is difficult to get around, and I am still recovering from that surgery of a couple of months ago.
UPDATE: 12/3/11: It's now official. The car is gone. I had it picked up this morning and got $225 for it. Not nearly enough to purchase another car, but it's better than nothing. I just wish that I didn't have to get rid of it and I feel lost w/o that car. It was my key to independence in that I was able to go to the store, do laundry and go to church without having to pester anyone for a ride. Now I have to go through that all over again. I feel really bad about this, but I had no choice. I just don't have the funds to do all the repairs that car needed.
Update 12/23/11: I've got a few days to go before a follow-up appointment with my surgeon about the complications I've had since my operation this past October. Being without a car is making it harder for me to abide by the lifting restrictions I am on. Because my car died a few weeks ago, I had to pester my father for a ride. I hate to do this and am at the end of my ropes. I am begging anyone out there who is reading this to please, please help me get a car. I have no one else to turn to and am on a fixed income. LIke I said before, I can provide proof about my circumstances to anyone who needs to see it.
Update: 1/2/12: The weather is getting worse, so I'll have to do more shopping by bus and will have to have the driver pick me up at the door. I cannot risk having a fall as I'm not in the best of health. My surgeon's appointment went well and I am no longer under lifting restrictions, but I still have to be careful. I've had back trouble for years, but especially after the surgery this past October and I don't know why. It is very hard to run errands like this and I am still hoping that someone out there can help me get a car. If anyone is willing to make a payment arrangement that I can afford, I am willing to try that too. I desperately need to get back on the road!
